The difference is that even if governors do become kings, they do not declare themselves as emperors automatically. The same progression for Coalition members still applies for their campaign, including capturing the Han Emperor. Governors such as Ma Teng and Liu Biao are loyal to the Han. To win the campaign, you’ll need to take out the seats of your two rival emperors. Once any faction leader becomes king, they declare themselves emperors, along with the two other leaders that are the strongest.
Capturing the city where the Han Emperor resides allows you to vassalize the Han Empire. There are currently five different types of faction leaders in Total War: Three Kingdoms.Ĭoalition members such as Cao Cao and Liu Bei expand their territory to earn prestige. * UNIQUE indicates a building that can only be constructed once faction-wide.The Middle Kingdom where you battle for supremacy. Unlike earlier Total War games, specific buildings are not directly required to unlock unit recruitment, however, buildings may be required to unlock reform paths which are required to unlock units. The "Settlement Administration" buildings are also constructed at commandery capitals, they change the nominal level of the settlement from Small Town through to Imperial City. The values for the reduction of cost for other building chains are not given here, they are standardised at -10% for levels 1-4 and -15% for level 5. The cost per turn, number of build turns and initial cost can all be altered by character or faction generated effects, assignments and administrators.
